Trunk or Treat Fall Festival Volunteers Needed

We're looking for volunteers for the Nathan T. Hall Elementary Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat on Friday, Oct. 25 from 5:30 - 7 p.m.

Event Rules and Guidelines for Participating Vehicles
  • Please arrive at 4:30 p.m. to get parked and decorate your trunk
  • Vehicles must be decorated and ready to hand out candy by 5:30 p.m. 
  • Vehicles must remain parked until the event is over at 7 p.m. 
  • Family Friendly, non-scary decorations and costumes only
  • Participants must sign up to decorate your vehicle by Oct. 18

Newark Valley High School Student Council Hosts Free Pancake Breakfast for Senior Citizens

The Newark Valley High School Student Council is bringing back a beloved tradition this holiday season with its Senior Citizen Pancake Breakfast. The event will take place on Friday, Dec. 20, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Newark Valley Fire Station.
This free event is open to all senior citizens in the community and serves as an opportunity for students to express their gratitude to the elder members of the Newark Valley community.
The Student Council members will prepare and serve a delicious pancake breakfast, complete with coffee and other refreshments. In addition to providing a hearty meal, students will spend time connecting with the attendees, fostering a sense of community and appreciation.
The Senior Citizen Pancake Breakfast has been a cherished tradition for Newark Valley High School, providing students with a unique opportunity to engage with and learn from their elders.

No School Veterans Day

Newark Valley Central School District Honors Veterans Day- No School

On Monday, Nov. 11, the Newark Valley Central School District will pause to honor the men and women who have bravely served our country. Veterans Day is a time for our community to come together in gratitude for those who have made significant sacrifices to protect our freedoms.

Our students have spent time learning about the importance of this national holiday, engaging in classroom activities that highlight the history and significance of Veterans Day.

Please join us in taking a moment this Veterans Day to thank the veterans in our community for their dedication and sacrifice. Together, we honor and remember their commitment to our nation.

In observance of the holiday, there will be no school on Monday, Nov. 11. Classes will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

Important Dates

Important Dates to Remember: Early Dismissal and School Closures This Week

Attention Cardinal Families! This week, there are a few important dates to keep in mind regarding student schedules:

- Thursday, Oct. 10: There will be an early dismissal for all students across the district.
  - Middle school students will be released at 2 p.m.
  - High school students will be released at 2:15 p.m.
  - Elementary school students will be released at 3:20 p.m.

- Friday, Oct. 11: There will be no school for students as our teachers and staff participate in a Superintendent’s Conference Day.

- Monday, Oct. 14: School will be closed in observance of Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples' Day.

Please mark your calendars and plan accordingly. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to ensure smooth and successful school days for all students!
