Newark Valley High School Student Council Hosts Free Pancake Breakfast for Senior Citizens

The Newark Valley High School Student Council is bringing back a beloved tradition this holiday season with its Senior Citizen Pancake Breakfast. The event will take place on Friday, Dec. 20, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Newark Valley Fire Station.
This free event is open to all senior citizens in the community and serves as an opportunity for students to express their gratitude to the elder members of the Newark Valley community.
The Student Council members will prepare and serve a delicious pancake breakfast, complete with coffee and other refreshments. In addition to providing a hearty meal, students will spend time connecting with the attendees, fostering a sense of community and appreciation.
The Senior Citizen Pancake Breakfast has been a cherished tradition for Newark Valley High School, providing students with a unique opportunity to engage with and learn from their elders.

HS Picture Make Up Day

Newark Valley High School will hold Picture Make-Up Day on Tuesday, Nov. 26. This session is for students who missed the original photo day or need a retake. Families are reminded that students should bring their original photo package if they wish to have a retake. 

Make-Up Day provides one last opportunity for students to capture their school memories. Please contact the high school office for any questions or additional information.

BAE Systems Engineers Teach 7th Graders About Electromagnetic Engineering

Seventh-grade science students at Newark Valley received a hands-on lesson in electromagnetic engineering on Friday, Nov. 8, thanks to two special visitors from BAE Systems. Jack Miller and ZeYu Chen, engineers at BAE Systems, joined Ashley Frantellizzi’s science classes to share their expertise and experiences.

Recently, a group of 12 sixth and seventh-grade girls from Newark Valley had the opportunity to visit Lockheed Martin for Women in Engineering Day. The event offered a glimpse into the world of engineering and hands-on experience with advanced technologies used by the aerospace company.

Newark Valley Central School District Honors Veterans Day- No School

On Monday, Nov. 11, the Newark Valley Central School District will pause to honor the men and women who have bravely served our country. Veterans Day is a time for our community to come together in gratitude for those who have made significant sacrifices to protect our freedoms.

Our students have spent time learning about the importance of this national holiday, engaging in classroom activities that highlight the history and significance of Veterans Day.

Please join us in taking a moment this Veterans Day to thank the veterans in our community for their dedication and sacrifice. Together, we honor and remember their commitment to our nation.

In observance of the holiday, there will be no school on Monday, Nov. 11. Classes will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
