Classroom Teachers:
  1. Teachers may send small groups (1-5) of students with no advance notice for recreational reading, simple research, or as a reward. Each student should have their own pass stating name, time leaving classroom, and should be signed by the teacher. For groups larger than five, teachers must check with the library first.
  2. ANY CLASS RESEARCH ASSIGNMENTS WHICH REQUIRES LIBRARY MATEIRALS OR ASSISTANCE FROM THE LIBRARIAN SHOULD BE REVIEWD WITH AND COMPLETED IN COOPERATION WITH THE LIBRARIAN. Reservations will be made for library space and library skills instruction.
  3. The Library classroom is available for your use. Please reserve in advance.
  4. The Library is CLOSED everyday between 10:40 – 11:00 for Advisory and Silent Reading. Do not send students to get books that period.
Study Hall Teachers:
**Please share these guidelines with your study hall students**
  1. Each student should have a separate pass with name, date, purpose of visit, time leaving classroom and teacher’s signature.
  2. A maximum of 5 students will be accepted from each study hall.
  3. Students sent for recreational purposes—browsing books, magazine reading, or computer use will be limited to a maximum visit of 20 minutes. For most students, one or two visits a week is sufficient.
  4. Students wishing to use the Library for research or quiet study should be given priority for library use. There is no limit for these students as long as they are working productively.
Loss of Library Privileges:
Students who abuse their privileges by being disruptive or have long overdue library materials will lose their library privileges for a period of time determined by the library staff. Teachers will be informed when this happens. Students who have lost their library privileges will not be allowed in the library for any reason other than with a class doing assigned library research and will not be allowed to sign materials out of the library
