Welcome Back from Principal Mertson

Welcome Back!  Sept. 7 is almost here, and I can’t wait to have our high school filled with students and the excitement of a new school year.
This summer we continued to build strong academic opportunities and support for our students.  Although we may be a small school, students can take classes in business, technology, art, music, and agriculture. We’re still offering college credit courses through TC3 and SUNY Broome.  And through BOCES Career and Technical Educational programs, the New Visions Academy, Visions Credit Union internships, and work experiences through the school’s café, students have access to educational experiences that develop career-based skills.  We will continue to support multiple programs to help our students be successful in school and become successful when they graduate.
I am also excited to introduce two new teachers. Meredith Meister will be teaching special education classes and Konstantina Lazaros is joining our staff as a Living Environment teacher.  As with all of our staff, you can contact them through the District’s website www.nvcs.stier.org.
I am excited to begin the new school year and to see what our students are going to do. The faculty and staff have worked hard to build a school that has valuable opportunities for our students, and I am looking forward to watching our students grow, succeed, and contribute to our communities.
See you Sept. 7!
