Students from Newark Valley participated in National Portfolio Day. National Portfolio Day is an event that is specific to visual artists and designers that allows students to meet with representatives from accredited colleges in the visual arts and design fields and have their body of work reviewed by these professionals. The students brought their work to the event and talk with the representatives one on one to identify strengths and areas of improvement that the student should work on in order to be accepted into an art program.
"This feedback is really important since it often drives home the fact that their art teachers are not “just being nice” or being overly critical either," said NV teacher Burton Taylor. "Our students did very well and received some great reviews and advice."
