NV Senior Alex Umiker Awarded 2020 Youth Scholarship
Southern Tier USBC is pleased to announce our 2020 Youth Scholarship winners given to High School seniors that excel not only in bowling but also in the classroom and HS and community activities. This year Alex Umiker from Newark Valley HS was chosen as a winner.
Alex had a high average of 209 and a High School GPA of 95.6. He competed and placed in many of our local tournaments and in 2019 placed 1st for IAC boys. Alex is an Eagle Scout (age 13) and is NY State Chapter director for the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation - with over 75 hours of volunteer service. Alex will be attending Binghamton University in the fall and hopes to join their bowling team. He will be majoring in Political Science.
