October is National Farm to School Month
October is National Farm to School Month. Recently students at Newark Valley tried Elotes (Mexican Street Corn) during a Rock on Café taste testing.  Elotes is a Mexican corn dish that is traditionally served on the streets of Mexico and has sour cream, lime, garlic and mayonnaise slathered onto warm grilled corn. After trying the locally grown corn, the students could then vote on whether or not it should be added to the school menu. This is part of the NY Thursday, Farm to School program that ensures our students are eating locally grown and sourced foods. Thank you Rock on Café for sharing your delicious menu items and taking great pictures.
