9th Grade Science Students Hear Collegiate Guest Lecturer
Mr. Cornell’s 9th grade Earth Science students had a wonderful opportunity to hear about research conducted by guest lecturer Robert Darling, SUNY Cortland Distinguished Teaching Professor. Dr. Darling spoke about his research on tiny mineral inclusions in Adirondack metamorphic rocks. One piece of his research was published in the world-renowned scientific journal, Science. This research directly corresponds with Regents content, and more importantly, allowed students to listen and speak with an actual scientist conducting research, a rare opportunity. A big thank you to Dr. Darling for volunteering his time and for providing this rewarding experience for Newark Valley students and hopefully, future scientists!
