NV Middle School awarded Prevention Partner of the Year

The prevention staff of CASA-Trinity had the honor of working very closely with Newark Valley Middle School this year. The group completed the social emotional-learning curriculum, 'Social Perspectives,' in grades 4, 5, and 6. Students in Nikki Morgan's 7th grade Health class received the 'Too Good' program and it went so well that the 5th grade teachers decided they wanted it too. In total, Casa-Trinity Prevention taught 260 students and 180 lessons in NVMS this year. They also held our First Cafe' Conversations night with 4th and 5th grade families, the feedback was awesome and they plan to host more of these next year. In addition NVMS teacher Nikki Morgan was awarded the Prevention Rock Star award for her key role in expanding prevention services in grades 4-7 and for her dedication to the health and well-being of all of the students in the middle school.
The group also worked at NVHS with Mr. Cicchetti's 8th grade health classes. His classes also received the 'Too Good' program as well.  Overall CASA Trinity taught 50 lessons to more than 50 students at NVHS.
