The Technology Director will work with district administrators to oversee the integration of technology into the instructional program and the curriculum. Responsibilities will include:
Maintain District Website.
Implement the current District Technology Plan by advancing technology use that is in compliance with all District policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Aligns initiatives of the district's technology plan with professional development plans, and other plans developed by the district, and updates district staff on progress toward/attainment of technology goals.
Maintains a plan of action to monitor the implementation of the Core Competencies outlined in the Technology Plan. Assists each Building Principal with the implementation of this plan in his/her building.
Assists teachers and staff in identifying ways to integrate technology in support of all curricular areas and administrative functions. Assists in identifying appropriate software that aligns with instructional objectives.
Trains and assists staff members in the understanding of technology operations and software capabilities of devices that include networked and stand alone computers, printers, digital cameras, e‑mail, Internet, etc.
Collaborates to ensure the proper design, installation, and maintenance of the technical infrastructure that supports the District's goals and objectives.
Maintains an inventory of all district‑owned and BOCES‑owned computer hardware and software and all related components.
Responsible for overall supervision for electronic file maintenance, including file security and the assigning of passwords
Maintains hardware and software network management district‑wide.
Oversees a that system of "back ups" exists for instructional and administrative software and data
Evaluates BOCES services that can provide assistance in areas of staff development and technical support
Works with building Principals in their decision‑making regarding the technology program in their building.
Explores, evaluates, and assesses future District technology needs.
Chair of the District Instructional Technology Committee and Technology Committee.
Active member of the district Administrative Council

This is a moderately technical position which involves assisting and monitoring students using school computer lab facilities and assisting and instructing teachers in the allocation of software to meet educational needs. This class differs from that of teacher aide in that it does not include responsibility for relieving school teachers of their work. Work is performed under the direct supervision of a higher level technical employee responsible for supervision of the computer lab, or other school administrator. Does related work as required.

The work involves analyzing hardware and software network problems, researching new products, and coordinating workshops. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of a higher level staff member. Does related work as required.

This is a technical position focused on adapting microcomputers to department and user needs. Working with various departments as needed, the incumbent works from problem definition to implementation and support for the system designed. The work includes the application of both hardware and software to meet the specific needs of the department. The position is supervised by a higher level administrator. Does related work as required.
