Sources for

For general information there are a number of books on the subject. Look under the subject of MYTHOLOGY in the card catalog. Most books will be found with the Dewey # 292.

Encyclopedias

For specific gods the encyclopedias should serve your purpose quite well. We have five sets:

New Book of Knowledge

Comptons

World Book Americana

Collier’s
Remember that the first three sets are more geared toward middle school level and the last two more high school level. References to the major gods can be found in any of these. For the lesser known gods would probably only be located in Collier’s or Americana. Finding a picture or drawing may be a bit more difficult. Often there are better illustrations in the middle school level encyclopedias.

Books

(on reserve)

Stapleton, Michael. A Dictionary of Greek and Roman Mythology. (292)

Senior, Michael. The Illustrated Who’s Who in Mythology. (291.13)
